Will Mom Get Help for Her Anger Issues?

– Ashanti and Tiara, please come join me in the circle of truth. (clapping) Alright, truth team, Rosie, what say you? – You said that you’re a woman of faith, and Colossians 3:21 says
don’t provoke your children for they will be discouraged. The Lord has a way of
working, but we have to listen and it you want to
transform your relationship, you have the potential
of doing, but you have to put everything in order,
and do what is right. And we’re going to start with something that’s really important. It starts from home. So, Michelle Garb from Free
Your Space, is going to help you with her services in cleaning your home, and making sure that you have
a safe space, but clean space. (clapping) – [Host] Judge Mary – There is a Polish saying,
it goes like this… (speaking in foreign language) What it generally means
is that you don’t engage with somebody that you don’t
feel you’re going to win with because they’re always right. You walk away. My advice to your daughter
is not to engage with you because you’re a hot mess, mom. (audience cheering and clapping) Children are a product
of their environment. So you created your
daughter by her watching, throughout her childhood,
all of your behavior. You want respect? You should’ve taught her how to respect, and given her respect. And mom, you need to
learn how to communicate with your daughter without arguing and without running to the police, because that’s repulsive to me. (clapping) – [Host] Areva. – Yeah, Ashanti, Dr. Phil
has this incredible quote and I use it all the time. He says “a parent is
both a noun and a verb”. So you are both a parent,
but you also have to learn, to parent,
(clapping) and from what we’ve seen today, you are not parenting these children. So your sentence, and I’m
not the judge on the panel, I’m the lawyer, but we’re sentencing you to anger management.
(audience cheering) Therapist Pam Sublett from In
Touch Christian Counseling, has agreed to work with
you, and we do hope you take her up on this incredible offer, and that you deal with your anger issues. – I’m the least angry in my house. (clapping)
Okay. Wow, Jesus. Wow. – [Host] Dr. Judy. – Oh, hey. (laughing) Ashanti, you came here to face the truth. – I did. – But all we’ve seen today,
is excuse after excuse, defense after defense, and you
know what that’s all about? You defend when you know
that you did something wrong, and you can’t look at
yourself in the mirror, and be okay with that. There are some things that
you’ve done, that I’m sure– – You’re putting words in my
mouth. You just don’t know. You have to be in my household. You can make judgment calls
on this little snippet of what you’ve seen, but if I
had more family members here– (several speakers all speaking at once) – I’m going to stop you right there. I’m a single mom, and I
would never beat my son, the way that you did.
– I didn’t beat him. (clapping) I didn’t beat them. That’s
what I’m telling you, I didn’t beat them. I hit…I hit them. – Ashanti (audience cheering
drowns out Dr. Judy) – It’s okay. God knows…
– That’s okay. That’s right, God does know everything.
– God don’t like ugly. – And I’m okay with that. – And you know what,
and despite any mistakes that you’ve ever made,
everybody makes mistakes, God still loves you, and we want to give you a second chance. So you need to heal your relationship with your son and daughter. So, Monique Elliott from
Savy Counseling Services has agreed to work with all three of you, to see if you can make some
positive steps forward. Okay? (clapping) – Ashanti. – Yes. – I know this was difficult,
but your son and your daughter, both were doing a cry for
help, and you all came here to face the truth. I want to thank both of you… I want to thank the whole
family, for having the courage– – Okay.
– to come and face the truth. (clapping) Alright? And get that room cleaned up. (laughing)

  1. When you make and attempt to reference the bible to make a point… please, please, please be accurate.
Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

    Colossians 3:20โ€ญ-โ€ฌ21 KJV

  2. Itโ€™s crazy how they sit there and judge this woman for a 30 min show like the Mom said โ€œyโ€™all not in my house to see how these kids actโ€ … how old is her kids anyway ??? They act like spanking yo kids is not the ideal discipline no more ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ 5 women in a panel telling you what you should do with yo life and situation but never been in the predicament before ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜ฉ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ where they do that at ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ Hopefully it wonโ€™t come back next szn โ˜บ๏ธโ˜บ๏ธโ˜บ๏ธ

  3. Back in the day, we got whippings with extension cords, shoes, everything. If this girl believes she is so battered and beating, give her ass emancipation papers send her ass on her way. Children's attitudes get they ass beat but parents have to careful? No!! Respect you parents or have the world show you to respect. I am thankful for my mother's discipline. The world would beat up harder and not care if you live or die. To her mom tho, never let a child of your own take you peace and joy. That girl is big enough to be ok with outing her mom on TV, let her become an adult on her own. Period!!

  4. This is nonsense I can't believe they putting all the blame on the mom I think that's wrong they just gave the children more power to be more rude to her

  5. This show wonโ€™t last cause these judges are mad negative wth type advice is this. They always saying some bullshit

  6. What's funny is episode is that you don't really know how a family operates until you live in the home with them for a period no less than 3months. I'm serious. While I'm not saying the mom doesn't have issues, You'd be amazed by what you'll find.. I like her personality though but she should recognize that her her kids are grownups and try to function in an advisory capacity.

  7. True you can be a product of ur environment, but a person grows into their own individual self. You have to learn have to make ur own choices and heal urself If u had a negative child hood. Itโ€™s called prayer and self help.

  8. There's more to this family than meets the eye and I think the judges need to realize that before they bring people on. You can never make a snap judgement about family issues.

  9. I think those kids are brats.
I think they provoke their mother to a point where she had no option but to ring the police.
If I was on the panel I would have asked where is the father? A woman weren't create to discipline the kids, a woman create to naturing her kids, its the father job to discipline.

  10. Think we all know that African Americans disciplines differently. A single mother parenting teenage kids will feel overwhelmed and frustrated. She is outnumbered, and has no male presence. She is exhausted and feels powerless on crazy days. If father bought her cell phone, why is he not in the middle of this. You can be divorced and still be present and have the kids respect mother.

  11. As a parent, you can say you will never beat up your child but if they have to be disciplined and words are not enough that they refuse to listen, what choice do you have? putting your child in care?. Both my parents have beat me up cause of the shit mistakes i did and now it's taught me how to be a good person, it changes your views on life and on people. My parents are African so being physical with their children means nothing.
